Drawing A Skull Tattoo

To draw a skull tattoo is something that I've been doing for awhile now and the range of skull tattoos you can design can be quite impressive if you decide to diversify your skull tattoo range, here we will go through some ways of drawing a skull tattoo and they will be easy for you to follow with four drawing videos.

I decided to do more of these drawing tutorials, because some of my Hubpage followers and YouTube subscribers have requested that I continue to do some more, which is fine by me, because I just love to draw anyway. By the way if there is anything that you would like me to draw, then head on over to my blog and leave a comment on my post for new requests, as I would love to hear some feedback on these drawing tutorials. Thanks!

Now drawing a skull tattoo, is just like drawing a demon tattoo and everything that I teach how to draw always starts off with a quick sketch that will be the foundation of the idea, getting this frst step right is the secret to a good drawing or concept, so watch the first video and see how I approach the drawing of a skull tattoo....

Drawing A Skull Tattoo Video One - Draft Sketching

Develop The Skull Tattoo With More Defined Pencil Lines

By working through and building up your ordered pencil lines on your skull tattoo, you are creating your drawing from the initial draft sketch and this is the best thing you can do, because developing concepts always starts out this way, sometimes you fail, but most times you succeed in bringing your ideas to life.

Watch the second video below to see how the skull tattoo is coming along and apply what you see in your own drawings....

Skull Tattoo Further Details And Development

The skull tattoo should now be taking shape and to make this tattoo more of a tattoo, it's time to add the designs around the skull, for a good mix of designs I've added fire and then blood and then some funky tribal spikes at the back of the skull which subconsciously turned out to look like a punk rocker hair style.

Don't worry if these elements don't appeal to you, I've just thrown them in there, you can draw your own skull tattoo the way you want to, I'm just giving you a few pointers here and there.

Ink The Skull Tattoo Drawing

Inking can take up time, that's why I've just loosely ink sketched the skull tattoo on this occasion and I recommend you to take your time with it if you want to add it to a flash sheet series to sell on, because tattoo have to look clear and professional and with colour too. So I've just done this quick to give you an inspiration with drawing skull tattoos and I hope you like and appreciate the thought!

Sure Cindy, it was a Roseart Greatgrip mechanical pencil, I find myself drawing with these a lot, because I hate sharpening the pencils on normal sketch pencils!

And the ink pen was just some really cheap gel ink pen that had no manufacturer name because it was so cheap!!

Cheers now!

Cheers bam bam!

It takes all practice and lots of sketching to get it right, that's why I locked myself in a room for 4 years to practice, I only came out when I could smell a Christmas Dinner!
